adventures of the toothless wonder

Here we are… one week shy of Sadie’s 9 month birthday.  She is growing fast.  She’s a big girl with hefty thighs.  Her hair is coming in by leaps and bounds and her personality is full blown outrageous.  But she still has ZERO teeth!  Not even the slightest hint of a tooth!  She is the only baby I know at her age that still has that big gummy grin.  And I loooooove it!

I’m so happy she’s still my little toothless, non-crawling baby.  She can take all the time in the world, Mama is loving holding onto these precious baby months.

The toothless wonder had a big weekend.  She saw lots of friends and family and went to some new places, and some of the old places as well.

Her friend Camilla came by and we went to this new park by the house that has a splash pad.  It’s so great!  It was all bigger kids and might have been a tad intimidating for this little gummy chomper, so we mostly stayed on the grassy side lines and blew bubbles.

We also finally reunited with Sadie’s best gal pal Georgia, who by the way – crawls, claps, waves, has tons of teeth and STANDS!  They are the same age btw.

Devin’s parents also came up for the weekend which was so nice for everyone.  The past few times we have seen them has been in a group setting, which didn’t make great for grandma + baby time.  So, I’m glad we got some of that much needed snuggle fest in.  Before the in-laws showed up, Devin’s friend stopped in to say hello and snapped some pro-quality photos of the toothless super-baby.  Dad tried to entertain baby during her big shoot.  I don’t know if she bought into it, but it sure was entertaining for me to watch!

Grandma & Grandpa’s visit consisted of the Echo Park Lotus Festival, a walk through the neighborhood, lunch at Gigi’s, dinner at Cowboys and Turbans, breakfast at Masa, you know – just a few things.

This whirlwind weekend was wrapped up by a late in the day impromptu visit to the LA Zoo, with just Mom, Dad and Gummy, herself.  She loves the Zoo.  I think she thinks all of the people crowded into one area are there to see her, not the giraffes.  And she also loves her Dad.

Now that’s a weekend! Whew!

BFF

You know what’s cuter than a baby?  A baby with a best friend that is also a baby.  You know what’s cuter than babies that are best friends?  Naked babies that are best friends.

Meet Georgia, Sadie’s BFF.  This weekend Georgia and her Mom, Michelle met Sadie and I at the W Hotel pool for a swim.  The babies splashed around for a bit then enjoyed basking in the warm shade sans diapers.  It’s nice to watch Sadie interact with another baby.  They don’t really know how to play with each other very gently just yet, but they are learning.  It’s also very nice to have Michelle, a fellow new Mom, to hang out with and talk about all of these crazy new changes in our lives.

Here’s Michelle & Georgia having a little love sesh.

So here’s to warm sunny days spent outdoors with friends.  I’m looking forward to many many more.
